First, we will explore the beach finding hidden creatures in the many rock pools including Beadlet anemones, the odd crab and if you’re lucky you may also find a blenny.

Next, we will either make a fire and toast some marshmallows, use the kelly kettles or trangias to boil water to make hot chocolate.

Sand

sculptures

&

scrambling

The sand sculptures will consist of searching the beach for tools such as rocks, sticks and shells and placing them on the sand to make one picture. This is a chance to let the children express their creativity. After that we will move further up the beach to do some scrambling. Scrambling is a chance to practice climbing but with less danger and no rope. We will squeeze through holes, scramble over boulders and have a lot of fun.

Rock

climbing

We will put up some ropes and start climbing. This is a challenging activity and will take a lot of courage but to get to the top is a fantastic feeling and most certainly well worth the climb. In this activity, we will not only get the chance to climb but also to belay (pull another climber up from the ground).
